The Finnish All-Party Parliamentary Group on Population and Development was established in 1995 for Finnish parliamentarians interested in promoting global sexual and reproductive health and rights issues (SRHR).

The Group was established by the initiative of Väestöliitto, the Family Federation of Finland. Väestöliitto functions as an advisor and secretary to the group. Eduvake, as well as other European All-Party Parliamentary Groups, works in close cooperation with EPF (European Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development).

The aim of the Group is to follow global SRHR and population issues and related development policy both in Finland and the EU. The activity of MPs is also needed in national follow-up so that the commitments made in the UN International Conference of Population and Development (ICPD 1994) and the 4th World Conference on Women in Beijing will be implemented.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group is based on the mutual interest of MPs irrespective of their Party. Presently nearly all parties are represented in the Group.
